Aionas

Faith is the underling support for the assurance of hope, the proof of things not seen, according to Hebrews 11:1. God does give us evidence and the foundations of true faith sees the proof for our hope. What kind of proof does faith see?  "By faith we understand that the aionas (the plural eons) were prepared (katartizoo) by the word of God." The phrase "word of God" is NOT logos, but God's command - rheemati Theou. The verb translated prepared is perfect, passive infinitive. He once for all fit out, equipped, put in order the plural eons. He did not actively create the eons nor did He create time. Solomon plainly states that long time (olam) is in our minds (Ecc. 3:11). The plural eons passively came about as a result of the command of God.

How can faith give us the foundation for the proofs of God in the plural eons? With telescopes we see all the way back through eons and eons - back to the creation age.
Ancient people did not have telescopes - so they could not see the vast distances that show us the evidence for the plural eons. All the ancients accepted that the first generations lived for vast eons in few days - just like Job explained back in the age of dinosaurs. He carefully listed the geological markers (such as the dried up sea - west) that showed they lived for geological ages in few days. We even find the skulls of our ancestors with huge thick brows. The bones of the skull are the only part of our skeleton that keeps growing as we age. If we lived for geological ages in few days, the grandparents would by then have grown Neanderthal brows. Ancient people had no problem with believing, as Jacob did, that the days and years of the sons are shorter and worse than the days and years of the fathers (Gen 47:9). They saw the evidence with their eyes.

Today we have powerful telescopes that reveal cosmic history back to the creation age. We see that many ancient galaxies were compact, without starry arms. Evidently the plural heavens were originally created out of formless matter (tohu wa bohu) as Moses stated.
We see at many ranges how the stars formed in the spreading place, exactly as stated on the fourth day of creation. We observe how star globs came out and spread out as billions of galaxies grew into huge, local growth spirals. Nowhere is there any visible evidence for atomic perpetual motion. We see in all parts of the spectrum that atomic clocks accelerated along with the accelerating star streams as billions of galaxies grew. Evidently he formed the plural eons passively by a command long ago. Faith provides us with the foundation for being assured by this evidence and the absolute proof that God will triumph over the wise of this age, the scientists. He is not a deceiver. We observe natural events that formed the plural eons, exactly as the writer of Hebrews states.

Yet all scientists, creationists and evolutionists, measure and matheamticate with their baseless assumption that atoms are perpetual motion engines. Their faith in atomic perpetual motion forms the foundation for their attempts at proofs. This prevents them from seeing the simple evidence that He formed the plural eons passively by an ancient command. He commands us to look at the plural heavens, evidently the galaxies in Isaiah 40:26. He claims that He is the one who calls the stars to come out in unbroken continuity, so none go missing. His glory is displayed in the spreading place, the plural heavens (Psalm 19).

Which faith do you have?
The faith of the scientists in atomic perpetual motion - or the simple faith that sees the evidence for God's ancient commands that passively formed the plural eons. Changing Earth Creationists try to interpret the Bible hermeneutically. They can see the proofs not available to those who use science as the foundation for evidence. Think about it.

The photo is from NASA taken in 2009 with the repaired Hubble telescope. Look at those ancient galaxies with their tails, the earliest stages in the formation of spiral galaxies. Look!
