Friar Thomas added the concept of esse to Aristotle. Aristotle believed all things change because they were composites (hyle and morphe). He compared hyle (wood) to a child in the womb of its mother growing and changing as it received (morphe) form. The only thing that did not change in Aristotle's system was hypokeimenon - that which is under. Of course no one has ever seen any hypokeimenon - it is invisible. Aquinas, in trying to explain Aristotle, simplified the convoluted system. Aquinas’ metaphysics focuses on the verb to be - in Latin esse. After centuries of the Catholic church teaching Aquinas, westerns came to believe that the essence of all things (what matter intrinsically is) is changeless. Please notice that all things can and do change accidentally in Aquinas' metaphysics. Matter can even be destroyed and cease to be what it was. How do you know what the essence is? In Friar Thomas' system, it is that property of matter than never changes UNLESS matter ceases to be. In other words, matter is not changing itself as it ages, changing relationally. It is from this fundamental creed that scientists contrived their ideas about perpetual motion in atoms. Modern scientists use the perpetual motion in atoms as the basis for most of their empirical measuring units and mathematical methods.
The Bible directly contradicts Aquinas. It clearly states that the creation is enslaved to change (Greek phthora). Paul used verbs for an orderly arrangement and togetherness when he described this universal change (Romans 8:19 - 22). Things that change in an orderly manner, together, change relationally. Relational change is parallel change where no property of matter is unaffected by the change. Peter predicted scientists - the basis for their system and how they will use their idea to obfuscate earth history and the age of the plural heavens (galaxies). Peter predicted they will say, all things remain the same (panta houtos diamenei - 2 Peter 3:3 - 6). Indeed, all scientists (creationists and evolutionists) were trained with Aquinas’ metaphysics, that the essence of substance is changeless. Matter, they believe can change in many ways (even be destroyed by radioactivity or fuse into new elements in the heat of the Sun). However, they believe that ancient hydrogen atoms were identical to modern ones.
Biblical physics does not use mathematical methods and measuring symbols that were contrived with the notion that atoms are not changing relationally. Biblical physics is supported by the visible history of billions of galaxies in all directions. Not a single one of them shines with the light frequencies of modern hydrogen atoms. Even when we sent calibrated clocks out of the solar system on the Pioneers, their clock signals transmitted from the past (when compared to NASA's hydrogen maser clocks of the moment) changed at approximately the same ratio to distance as those from galaxies (the Hubble ratio). There is not a shred of visible evidence anywhere for immutable atoms that dither with perpetual motion.
How can you be sure it was not the vacuum of space time that stretched the light? How can you be sure that prodigious amounts of invisible matter did not form the galaxies? How can you be sure that a tiny bit of vacuum did not explode and create everything out of nothing? How can you be sure that galaxies are not rushing away from us as the vacuum of space time is expanding - pulling more invisible energy out of the vacuum to accelerate the expanding vacuum? These myths were contrived to support science’s blind creed that matter is not changing itself as it ages.
Biblical physics is supported by visible galactic history - the only history that we see AS IT HAPPENED long ago. We observe that ancient galaxies were often naked, without starry arms. We observe how the stars continue to accelerate outward, as matter expands and its atomic frequencies also accelerate. What we see is the creation sequence as explained with Hebrew words. We see that He created the plural heavens (the galaxies) first, before the stars continued to form and continued to be placed in the raqiya - the spreading place. We even see on the surface of our own planet that it once was a tiny globe without major seas and that the earth has continued to stretch out in unbroken continuity - exactly as the Bible states three times. (The continents only fit together on a tiny globe and the sea floor is much younger than the continents). Our ancestors a few millennia ago even measured a much smaller solar system with angles, the only modern measuring symbol that is not tained with the notion of atomic immutability.
Carefully examine the creed upon which western science was founded, the idea the Bible predicted for the last days. How great will be the fall of western science before the power of God's word! How will it happen? In the plural heavens (shamayim - the galaxies) the spreading place (raqiya) knowledge is available of the Creator's great glory. Scientists will undo their own system with their telescopes because what is visible is biblical creation and biblical cosmic history, exactly as declared in the Scriptures. However, what is visible is not scientific. He will do what He promised, make foolish the wise of this age. How great is the power of His Word.
The photo is courtesy NASA, taken in 2004 by the Hubble Space Telescope. The light from HUDF galaxy #3180 shone at 53.5 % of the light frequencies of modern hydrogen. The arms are made of equally spaced clumps that have only rotated half a turn around the core. The starry arms are slightly bluer than the core. At the end of one arm is a tiny yellow sibling galaxy.
