Antenna Galaxy

The Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) has started observing the universe. In the accompanying view, nineteen 12-meter antennas observed the heart of the Antenna galaxy in millimeter and sub-millimeter bands. Eventually 66 ALMA antennas will combine their signals to form a single image. Each ALMA antenna weighs a hundred tons but is precisely positioned with an alt-azimuth mount so that each can point at the same galaxy. In general, the more distant a galaxy, the more its light shines at long wavelengths, so ALMA will observe the earliest galaxies as well as nearby cold gas. Long wavelengths do not focus sharply, so the pictures at present are blurry. As additional antennas are added, ALMA should resolve distant galaxies at 10 times the sharpness as the Hubble telescope. By combining vistas from ALMA, the Very Large Telescope (VLT), Hubble, Herschel and eventually the James Webb, astronomers will observe the beginning of the universe. The arguments between biblical creationists and the advocates of a big bang will be resolved, not theoretically or mathematically, but with the only history that is visible as it happened, galactic history. This is the most powerful form of evidence possible.

The accompanying picture combines sharp optical images from Hubble with (at this point) blurred microwaves views from ALMA’s present configuration. Each galactic core shines in yellow while the millimeter wave areas shine in red. According to astronomers, the heart of the twin antenna galaxies is combining. Supposedly clouds of gas and dust from a big bang condensed into stars which gravitated together into small galaxies. Allegedly the small galaxies combined into larger ones, which is supposedly happening in this picture. If this is so, why then does each galactic core have a single enormous thin spiral arm that extends out for vast distances, far beyond the borders of this picture? Are the thin, long arms falling in toward the core of each galaxy? A short common arm links the two galactic cores. Within the common arm, we see a great deal of millimeter wave activity. Is the common arm glowing from dust condensing into baby stars? Perhaps both galactic cores were ejected from a point source between the two? The question is, are the galaxies combining or are they spreading apart?

Trying to decode cosmic history at one range is like the story of blind men each feeling just one part of an elephant. One must compare the light and morphology of galaxies at many ranges to discern galactic history. What is visible in galactic history in all bands is the exact opposite of scientific stories. We see that the earliest galaxies were tiny and naked, without starry appendages. We observe little blue globs coming out from the redder cores of those early galaxies. Often the blue beads are arranged in lanes, like beads on a necklace. At even closer ranges, we observe how the strings of beads accelerate out, rotate out, taking up more space as countless galaxies intrinsically grew into huge, close by, dusty, growth spirals. At each range, we observe that all the light shines at frequencies that are fractions of the frequencies observed from modern atoms.

Galactic history confirms biblical creation, not science. We observe what the Word of God states that Elohim completed the creation of the plural heavens (galaxies) and earth first.
However, at first the Earth was formless, evidently it took up very little space. Then Elohim continued to command light to continue to be and matter began to be actualized by light. Half way through the creation week, Elohim continued to form the Sun, Moon and stars and continued to place them in the raqiya, the spreading place. This is precisely what is visible as perhaps a trillion galaxies spread out, taking up more volume as the stars spread out. Evidently primal matter was tohu bohu (formless) and all matter keeps on changing itself relationally. Indeed, we see many examples of jets shooting out from tohu bohu point sources all over the universe. It is not just the space matter takes up that keeps increasing. We also observe that the atomic clocks and the inertial properties of matter keep on changing relationally as billions of galaxies grew into huge, dusty, local, growth spirals.

Indeed the Bible also states that the Earth spreads out in unbroken continuity. We confirm that this is so, not with mathematical notions of measuring, but with the visible evidence that the continents only fit together on a tiny globe. We also observe a global expansion seam continuing to produce young sea floors. The theory of subduction is clearly denied by the layered, undisturbed sediments in the alleged “subduction trenches.”

What is visible is evidence for biblical physics, that the creation is enslaved to change (Romans 8:19 - 22). It is also simple, visible evidence for a biblical creation and biblical cosmic history.
Biblical cosmic history is unlike the ad hoc scientific stories about invisible matter and vacuum forces that adjust the frequencies of passing light. How great will be the fall of western science before the visible evidence that confirms God’s word. What a day of glory that will be for the Creator when he makes foolish the wise of this age, western scientists.
